Virtual Tape Solutions for Low-end NonStop Systems

The Problem:
Virtual tape solutions are available for HP NonStop systems from several suppliers, including ETI-NET. While they offer the promise of improved backup operations, more reliable storage of backups, faster backups and restores, up until now these solutions have been prohibitively priced for use on low-end or older NonStop systems.

The Solution:
ETI-NET has packaged its field-proven, highly successful BackBox virtual tape solution as a pre-configured product aimed at small NonStop systems. Use of HP server technology with internal RAID storage for virtual tape date, along with an integrated open systems tape drive capable of reading NonStop legacy tapes, has resulted in a cost-effective solution for low-end S-series and NS-series systems.

Is there a catch?
Only one SCSI connection to an S-series system or FC connection to an NS-series system is supported. BUT, you can use up to 4 virtual tape drives at no extra cost!
