EZX-BACKBOX Buffered Tape Adapter
EZX-BackBox® is the newest addition to ETI-NET's family of device integration products for HP NonStop Users. EZX-BackBox provides NonStop users extended device support for high performance open system disk and tape subsystems while presenting a native tape drive personality to the NSK operating system via SCSI controllers.
EZX-BackBox emulates one or several native tape devices attached to HP NonStop systems. It is seen by the Guardian operating system as a standard tape drive connected to a SCSI controller. The standard NSK tape process is used. Virtual volumes are managed using unmodified Guardian media manager software such as the DSM/TC catalog. Distinct volume pools are reserved for virtual volumes.
