BackPak® is the latest addition to ETI-NET’s family of backup products for HP NonStop systems. BackPak® is a software-based product managing NonStop-attached physical or virtual tape libraries.

 

Tape libraries that are fully compatible with HP’s NonStop tape subsystem are directly attached to the NonStop system via SCSI or FC ports. The library’s tape devices are treated as regular tape devices by the NonStop tape IOP software and the library’s media changer is accessed as an OpenSCSI device.

Tape libraries that are not fully compatible with the NonStop tape subsystem software are connected via an optional ETI-NET external converter. This converter acts as a general gateway that also provides SCSI to FC conversion and vice-versa.
