TS570 - Tivoli Storage Manager 5.1 Implementation

This course is designed to allow participants to implement IBM Tivoli Storage Manager across the enterprise. Participants will be shown how to implement automatic policy-driven backup, restore, archive, and retrieval functions at both the IBM Tivoli Storage Manager server and client workstations. Students will develop skills in using the IBM Tivoli Storage Manager administrative interfaces to allow them to manage the IBM Tivoli Storage Manager server, database, recovery log, storage pools, and client policies. The course begins with participants installing the Storage Manager server without any modifications or customizations. Through lecture and extensive hands-on exercises, the participants will customize their IBM Tivoli Storage Manager system to automate client operations and protect Storage Manager and client data. The skills learned in this course apply to all IBM Tivoli Storage Manager client and server platforms.

 

 

TS580 - Tivoli Storage Manager 5.1 Enhancements, Tuning, and Troubleshooting.

This course is designed to provide in-depth administration training with IBM Tivoli Storage Manager Enterprise Edition beyond the IBM Tivoli Storage Manager Implementation class. You will be shown how to configure the Storage Manager database and recovery log for performance and availability. You will develop skills to run both client and server trace functions and to write and execute server scripts. You will be shown how to configure and administer Storage Managers Enterprise Administration and Server to Server Virtual Volumes, as well as recover destroyed Storage Manager databases and volumes. You will also be shown the recommended values for the more critical Tivoli Storage Manager performance tuning parameters.

 

 

TS590 - Tivoli Disaster Recovery Manager 5.1 Implementation

This course on IBM Tivoli Disaster Recovery Manager, a feature of IBM Tivoli Storage Manager Enterprise Edition, can help you to prepare a disaster recovery plan, manage off-site volumes, and restore systems using Tivoli Disaster Recovery Manager. In this course you will learn and practice skills needed to implement and administer IBM Tivoli Disaster Recovery Manager by creating a customized disaster recovery plan to help you recover an IBM Tivoli Storage Manager server and client. You will use the plan to back up the necessary server files, a database, and a storage pool onto removable media for offsite storage vaulting. Using IBM Tivoli Storage Manager server-to-server communications, the plan will also be used to back up to remote virtual volumes for offsite electronic vaulting.

 

 

 

TS600 - Tivoli Storage Resource Manager 1.1 Implementation

The purpose of this 2 day hands on, instructor-led training is to show and explain how the features and functions of IBM Tivoli Storage Resource Manager can be used to administer and manage an organization’s storage resources and help meet its Storage Resource Management needs. Through lecture and hands-on exercises, the participants will install and configure the Storage Resource Manager server and agent, navigate through IBM Tivoli Storage Resource Manager's interface, and monitor, evaluate, and report on the managed storage resources. The skills learned in this course apply to all IBM Tivoli Storage Resource Manager agent and server platforms.
